Egress Defend Welcome Email
Hello Everyone,
Egress Defend provides advanced detection capabilities that reduce the risks associated with email phishing attacks. Egress Defend evaluates context, relationships, and message content before the email arrives in your mailbox.
As you are part of the test group, you will see banners at the top of emails landing in your inbox, each one color coded to provide different levels of detail. You will also see a folder in outlook appear called _Graymail.

Graymail banner: Graymail is bulk email sent from a legitimate source and is non-malicious. Examples of Graymail include periodic newsletters, announcements, or advertisements targeted to your specific interests. Depending on organization configuration, emails flagged as Graymail may be moved to a _Graymail or Junk folder. If there are emails sent to the graymail folder that should not, click on the graymail button and on the screen that appears, report as not graymail. In the event, we need to ensure those emails reach other individuals, please let us know and we can filter those out.
Blue banner: Blue banners are informative and are not associated with a threat being detected. In most cases, no action is required for a blue banner.
Amber banner: Amber banners indicate that suspicious elements have been detected and show indications of phishing or impersonation. Exercise caution when responding or clicking on links and ensure you respond to the real sender.
Red banner: Red banners indicate that an email shows very strong signs of phishing. Ideally, the email should be deleted, at the very least extreme caution should be used if responding, taking suggested action, or clicking on links.
Attached to this email is a user guide that explains the features of Egress Defend in full.
