WSDOT Workspace Error

Problem
Occasionally when you try to open PowerInroads or Microstation with the WSDOT Workspace, you receive a warning message.

Reason
MicroStation is looking for the WSDOT workspace on the U drive. So, you need to ensure you are connected to the U drive before opening Microstation.
But here is the catch. Windows may be “connected” to the U drive but not all the way. When you look at it in File Explorer you can see the red “X” on the U drive icon.

Solution
You have to physically browse to the U drive to fully connect so that Microstation can see the U drive. You can tell when it is fully connected when the icon turns green.

So, if you open Microstation and the WSDOT workspace is missing. Close Microstation, browse to anything on the U drive, and try again.
