AutoTURN 2025 Ribbon Not Loading in ORD 2024 When Opened from ProjectWise
Issue
When launching OpenRoads Designer (ORD) 2024 through ProjectWise, the AutoTURN 2025 ribbon does not appear, even though it loads correctly when opening ORD directly via the AutoTURN desktop shortcut.
Root Cause
ProjectWise does not pass the required configuration variable to load the AutoTURN add-in (atcn2025) at startup.
Resolution
To ensure the AutoTURN ribbon loads correctly in ORD 2024 when opening files from ProjectWise, the configuration switch must be added to the ProjectWise program association.
Step-by-Step Fix
1. Confirm the AutoTURN Config File Exists
Verify that the following file is present:
C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer 2024.00\OpenRoadsDesigner\config\appl\AutoTURN2025_12_0.cfg
2. Update ProjectWise Program Association
Open ProjectWise Explorer.
Navigate to: Tools > Associations > Programs.
Set Association View to User Associations.
Locate OpenRoads Designer under the Applications list.
Expand Open and right-click to create or edit an entry.
-
In the Command Line Arguments, use:
-wsMS_DGNAPPS=atcn2025
Full example:
plaintextCopyEdit"C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenRoads Designer 2024.00\OpenRoadsDesigner\OpenRoadsDesigner.exe" -wsMS_DGNAPPS=atcn2025
3. Validate the Ribbon Loads
Open a file from ProjectWise using the updated association.
The AutoTURN 2025 ribbon should now load automatically.
If not, verify the config file path and that the switch matches the add-in version exactly.
